Our downloadable book is here! Getting you through this strange time we’re living in, Lockdown on Sustainability is a guide to living sustainably, becoming more self sufficient and encouraging true self care for you and your family.
Why is it donation based?
With markets and events closed for the forseeable future, we want to still be here for you and to pay our overheads. Any donation towards this book, however little or small is a huge help to us to keep going and be there when the new community we live in appears. The minimum donation is £5 for the book.
When will other chapters become available?
We are working on this book constantly and hope to release each month. We want to make sure everyone has something to keep them going rather than wait for the whole book to come out at once. Each chapter will be downloadable as part of the book so when you download again, the chapter will be added onto the original book.
The book is downloadable as a PDF file and will be able to be read via google chrome or whatever PDF viewer you have. You can also print out the book to save for a later date, including the 12 month homesteader printable calendar.
During these unprecedented times, we will have been feeling overwhelmed with the number of decisions to make. Whether it be the food choices we make, the way we travel, how we work, how we connect with others, a lot is changing but it doesn’t have to be to the detriment of us.
I decided to write this book in defiance of the panic, fear and overwhelm around us, to help others who feel the same, feel in control while also looking after themselves and their families. I also wrote it with the whole ethos of Society Zero’s core values at the heart of every word.
How can we support our environment when nothing will ever be the same after this? Simple answer really; we adapt. The same way that our environment has adapted to human beings changing it.
We’re used to convenience, even those hardcore zero wasters have succumbed to it. Ordering online is easier than ever and we’re now extremely reliant on it, just as small businesses have to close their doors, sometimes for good. We’ve even got our own online shop to make it easier for people to shop with us, keep us afloat and support our social mission.
What can we do to become more self sufficient though? How can we become more sustainable than ever before and still thrive, albeit in new and sometimes challenging ways?
I’ve written this book to give you some tools and advice from experience, knowledge and a passion for creating a sustainable life in the midst of this madness. All views are my own, I do my best to be inclusive wherever possible and my aim is for this to be as accessible and as helpful as it possibly can be.
As an introductory guide, some of the topics covered you may know of already, some you may not know and some you will, hopefully, adopt for life.
Written with love for our growing community, the individuals we’ve yet to know and for those who are just wanting to be more self sufficient in defiance of the status quo the world’s current economic model wants us to live in. It’s time for us to stand up, be counted and become the change in the world we dream of being but just didn’t have the courage to be.
I see you, I hear you, I believe in you. You are valued.
