  • 🍃 What's your favourite clothing investment? . 🍃 After a break for family this weekend, a wedding and then visiting foster family, it's been much needed and whilst I recouperate, I couldn't help but render massive guilt while wearing my new dress but then remembered this quote⠀ ⠀ 🍃 I couldn't find anything second-hand that would fit or suit me, nor did any friends have anything I could borrow so I instead bought a brand new dress.   • 💚 If you could time travel to the past and bring back a product/life skill/shopping behaviour, what would it be? . 💚 As our world has gotten wealthier we've become so used to being able to replace things quickly and dispose of everything really easily. Thankfully we've also got modern versions to swap our disposables for. Menstrual cups, beeswax wraps, reusable face wipes... The list goes on thankfully . 📸 @charlottemdean thanks for the photo!

  • 🍃 Cleaning with a bar of soap seems to freak some people out, is it because we're indoctrinated to believe that we're not "clean enough" and that everything needs to be 99.9% antibacterial for it to work?⠀ ⠀ 🍃 Soap is self cleaning! There was an episode of Trust Me I'm a Doctor on the BBC a few months ago and they did a test on how clean hands were after washing with liquid soap, liquid antibacterial soap and a general handmade soap bar. The results proved that as long as you wash your hands long enough with the soap and hot water (twice the length of singing happy birthday) and well enough (in-between fingers etc) then they all cleaned as well as each other.   • 💚 How do you get politicians to act with your interests and causes? Speak to them! Thanks to @firstportscotland passing my details about our social enterprise successes onto my local MSP @ronamackaymsp - we spoke about what we were doing to not only help the environment, but support those who need it most and so glad they loved what we were doing . 💚 Speaking about it in parliament today, got little butterflies as we were recognised by @scotgov 😍 the amazing things #Scotland is doing is not to be sniffed at. We are further ahead than a lot of countries but still have a lot of work to do. Feeling very lucky to have been able to get the chance to have our voices heard. You can also contact your local MSP's and MP's to voice your concerns and ask what they will do to help . 💚 Thanks to @lesswastelaura for being able to save this as I couldn't quite work out how to #lifesaver

  • 🌳 Building on our social impact and environmental goals coupled with the fact we know that we need more trees in the world to help tackle the greenhouse effect. We're going to be planting trees! . . 🌳 One tree can absorb as much as 48 pounds of carbon dioxide per year and can sequester 1 tonne of carbon dioxide by the time it reaches 40 years old! With this in mind, we want to do our bit while getting as big a group of people together as we can to plant trees. We're currently talking to local councils and the forestry commission to find out where would be best for us to start our tree planting ventures. . 🌳 We're a Community Interest Company meaning we put purpose, (and in our specific case) environment before profit.
