  • 🍃 Are you going through the transition phase with your shampoo bar? Or starting to get build up? Do you want to detox/clean your scalp and hair of the build up from bottled shampoo to clarify your hair and skin? Or do you simply want to cut out shampoo altogether? THIS is for you⠀ ⠀ 🍃 Put a tablespoon (2 tablespoons of you've got long hair) of bicarbonate of soda into a pint (2 pints for long hair) jug/glass (in my case a jar) of warm water⠀ 🍃 Mix until it's dissolved⠀ 🍃 Before you shampoo after wetting your hair, pour this mixture over your hair gradually and massage into your scalp and through your hair after every pour⠀ 🍃 Rinse off and wash out the mixture until you feel your hair is squeaky clean - be sure not to get any in your eyes as it can hurt, it also tastes pretty weird in my opinion⠀ 🍃 Your hair will feel squeaky and dry but this is your hair all clarified! (You can use a shampoo bar at this stage if you'd like)⠀ 🍃 After you've fully rinsed out, use a 50/50 diluted mix of apple cider vinegar and water sprayed onto your hair and scalp then comb through to the ends. This conditions your hair and dissolves any leftover bicarbonate of soda you've missed⠀ ⠀ 🍃 Result? The softest, flounciest, cleanest hair and scalp.   • 💚 We had an amazing time at our first Society Zero CIC Sewing Bee! Nearly 200 bags made which will be handed out to people who haven't thought about reducing waste yet to start a conversation and to those who can't afford to buy⠀ ⠀ 💚 In just a few short hours, sewing skills were taught/re-learned, bags of varying sizes made from secondhand donated fabric from bedsheets, lots of happy conversation had and great people enjoying themselves. ⠀ ⠀ 💚 We're so happy to have started this and even happier the number of people getting involved for the greater good again.   • 💚Approximately 2 BILLION disposable razors are thrown away each year and the only recyclable part (the blades) are hardly recycled as they're so tiny and extremely difficult to remove⠀ ⠀⠀ 💚With a safety razor, you can not only save yourself a lot of money due to inexpensive replacement blades, but save yourself razor rash due to only one blade going across your skin while shaving. Shave the cost, get a much closer and less irritable shave (far less red dots and rashes)⠀ ⠀ 💚 How to recycle the blades? Keeping a reusable bottle/jar in your bag ensures you don't have to forgo the thirst quenches⠀ ⠀ 💧 Scotland has some of the cleanest water in the world! There's no reason we need to be buying bottled water and quite frankly, we feel it's a complete rip off⠀ ⠀ 💧 An estimated 700,000 plastic bottles are littered every single day in the UK (swipe to see just two picked up) ⠀ 💧 Many of these bottles and their lids end up in our waterways leading to the ocean, clogging waterways and ending up in the mouths of aquatic life starving them or choking birds⠀ 💧 A million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute and the number will jump another 20% by 2021!   • ♻️ What do you do with your bamboo toothbrush handles? ⠀ ⠀ ♻️ These beautiful toothbrushes are not only a great size, firmness and shape for cleaning your teeth with but once they're a too soft for your mouth, move onto using them for cleaning round taps etc until the bristles start coming out. At this point, snap the head off or pull the bristles out with a pair of pliers and put these in landfill and you can either compost your handle OR even better, reuse them!
